Important Notices for J-1 Exchange Visitor Scholars:
Prior to international travel, please contact the Visa and Visitor Services Office to have your DS-2019 form signed to permit reentry into the United States. A signed DS-2019 form and a valid visa stamp are required for reentry. A visa stamp can only be obtained from a consulate's office outside of the United States. When applying for a new visa stamp, please be advised that significant delays may be experienced due to the changing immigration laws.
Prior to giving a lecture at an institution outside of the Institute, please provide the Visa and Visitor Services Office with information about the invitation so the appropriate documentation can be completed.
Important Notice for Visa Waiver Program Travelers:
All foreign nationals planning to enter the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP) will be required to register for online travel clearance through the Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA). Travelers should submit their applications well in advance of travel, and no later than 72 hours before departing for the United States.
In addition to obtaining an ESTA clearance, a Visa Waiver traveler must ensure that his or her passport complies with program requirements. Passport requirements differ based on the traveler's country of citizenship and the date the passport was issued. Directions to the Institute for Advanced Study
The Institute for Advanced Study is located at 1 Einstein Drive in Princeton in central New Jersey. The Institute and its 800-acre grounds are approximately one mile from the center of the town of Princeton and are easily accessible by car, train, or taxi from major cities along the Eastern seaboard

Parking
If you park your vehicle on the IAS campus or in the Member housing complex, please complete the vehicle registration through UpdateMe so that Public Safety has a means of getting in contact with you if needed.
If you plan on parking your vehicle for an extended period of time (more than one week) without moving it, please use the Lot A parking area located on Olden Lane. This will help to provide parking spots for daily use in the Lot B parking area and in Member Housing driveways.
Should you need to make a room reservation at a hotel, please click on the links below. In some instances, IAS may have reserved a block of rooms for conference/workshop participants or made reservations at a local hotel on your behalf. Please check with your conference organizer or School administration.
