Juan Maldacena Awarded Lorentz Medal

The Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences has awarded the Lorentz Medal to Juan Maldacena, Carl P. Feinberg Professor in the School of Natural Sciences, for his seminal contribution to the understanding of the quantum physics of black holes. The medal, which will be presented at a ceremony in Amsterdam this November, is awarded every four years to a scientist in recognition of important contributions to theoretical physics.
