Shuttle
Image
The Institute provides a free shuttle service between IAS, Palmer Square, Princeton University, Nassau Park Pavilion, and the Mercer Mall for members of the Institute community. The scheduled service runs Monday through Friday.
Passengers must make a reservation to ride the shuttle. The shuttle does not run without a reservation. Be sure to book your outbound trip and your return trip separately, with the exception of the daily evening trip to Trader Joe's.
IAS – Princeton Connector
Image
For a pilot period of six weeks, beginning Monday, September 14, 2026, the Institute is also operating a free academic shuttle service with Stout’s Transportation. It connects IAS with Princeton.
The continuous loop service runs Monday through Friday with stops at Fuld Hall, the Graduate College, Goheen Walk & Washington Rd, Firestone Library, and Palmer Square.
No reservation is required—passengers may simply walk up and board at any stop along the route.
Those wishing to ride the IAS – Princeton Connector should look out for Stout’s Transportation buses with the Institute for Advanced Study wordmark displayed in the window.
TigerTransit
The TigerTransit bus service, operated by Princeton University, provides free transportation throughout the Princeton campus and surrounding area. There are TigerTransit stops located near most major academic and administrative buildings on the University campus, commuter parking lots, and housing facilities. The closest available TigerTransit stop to the Institute’s campus is located at the Graduate College.
Parking on the Institute Campus
If you park your vehicle on the Institute campus or in the Members Housing complex, please complete the vehicle registration via UpdateMe so that Public Safety has a means of getting in contact with you if needed.
If you plan on parking your vehicle for an extended period of time (more than one week) without moving it, please use the Lot A parking area located on Olden Lane. This will help to provide parking spots for daily use in the Lot B parking area and in Member Housing driveways.
