Faculty and Members Elected to British Academy

Caroline Walker Bynum, Professor Emerita in the School of Historical Studies, has been elected to the British Academy as a Corresponding Fellow. Other elected Members include Gary Gerstle, Member (1990–91) in the School of Social Science; Kenneth Pomeranz, Member (2011–12) in the School of Historical Studies; Claudia Rapp, Member (1997–98) in the School of Historical Studies; and Ineke Sluiter, Member (1996–97) in the School of Historical Studies.

The British Academy is a fellowship of approximately 1,400 leading national and international academics elected for their distinction in the humanities and social sciences. This year’s new class of Fellows are experts in subjects ranging from feminist theory to the economic development of Africa; medieval history to Indian philosophy and face perception.
