Institute Faculty and Former IAS Affiliates Elected to American Philosophical Society

Richard Taylor, Robert and Luisa Fernholz Professor in the School of Mathematics, has been elected to the American Philosophical Society, along with Margaret Levi, former Trustee of the Institute, Avishai Margalit, former Professor in the School of Historical Studies, and former Members Paul Farmer, Paul W. Kroll, Susan Neiman, and Sara Seager. The American Philosophical Society is the nation's oldest learned society, founded in 1743 by Benjamin Franklin for the purpose of "promoting useful knowledge."
