My current program of research aims at developing a Fully Empirical Science and Technology (FEST), including a science of mind component, to complement our current version of a science of matter, natural science, with the ultimate goal of unifying both into a single science of reality (see also my IAS Scholars page) For an overview of my other interests, see Activities. After starting my appointment at IAS in 1985 as Professor of Astrophysics, I became the Head of the Program in Interdisciplinary Studies from 2002 to 2023. For a flavor, see this IAS newsletter essay; a paper I wrote with two IAS postdocs; and an review of my interdisciplinary program, written by some of my visitors. |
