Joan Wallach Scott, Professor Emerita in the School of Social Science, has co-authored Les Défis de la République: Genre, Territoires, Citoyenneté (Presses De Sciences Po, 2017), which examines the conditions under which new public policy mechanisms, regarding parity, affirmative action, timetables, reversal of the burden of proof with regard to discrimination, equality in access to public space, and more, are extended and intensified.
