Ziyang Gao works on Diophantine problems with abelian varieties and mixed Shimura varieties. His recent research concerns transcendental results and unlikely intersections on mixed Shimura varieties using different techniques (algebraic group theory, Diophantine estimate, height theory, Hodge theory, o-minimal theory, and so on).
