Shu-Heng Shao is interested in various aspects of quantum field theory and its applications to condensed matter systems and gravity. His current research ranges over a diverse set of topics including symmetry, anomalies, and defects. More recently, he has been working on the continuum field theory for fractons, a novel class of exotic lattice models.
