Melissa Teixeira is an economic and legal historian of Brazil. While at the IAS, she’s working on her book "Inflation and the Making of Brazilian Democracy," exploring how persistent inflation in Brazil shaped popular struggles for democratic accountability, social mobility, and economic justice from the postwar era through the 1990s.
