María Bárbara Zepeda Cortés’ research centers on reformist movements and the Spanish Enlightenment. At IAS, she will be completing the long-awaited biography of José de Gálvez, an eighteenth-century Spanish stateman, who directed a program of wide-reaching reforms that transformed the lives of peoples around the globe.
