Jennifer Tamas works at the crossroads of gender studies and early modern French culture. At the Institute, she will work on a new book project, "Behind Closed Doors: Historicizing Conjugal Duty in Early Modern France (1607–1701)," which investigates judicial records, canards, notarial deeds, literary texts, and neglected family papers.
