Fernando Brancoli studies how peripheralization operates through territorial and environmental governance, with a focus on neoextractivism, state fragility, and power dynamics in the Global South. While at IAS, he will examine how the Amazon functions as a critical site for understanding contemporary forms of extraction, sovereignty challenges, and the intersection of local crises with global governance structures.
