Debjani Bhattacharyya is the author of Empire and Ecology in the Bengal Delta: The Making of Calcutta (Cambrigdge, 2018). At IAS she will be competing her book how marine insurance market’s risk apprehensions shaped climate sciences and a derivatives market in weather futures in the Indian Ocean Region.
