Research interests: The Roman Near East; landscapes and military history of Syria and Arabia; Aerial Archaeology in Jordan and Saudi Arabia; Jordan from prehistory to the present. While at the IAS he will be researching the visit of Count Carlo Vidua to the ruins of the Graeco-Roman city of Gerasa (modern Jarash) in Jordan, in 1820.
