Cynthia Talbot explored traditions about a medieval Indian king conquered by an Afghan Muslim, now published as The Last Hindu Emperor: Prithviraj Chauhan and the Indian Past, 1200-2000 (Cambridge, 2016). This study of how historical memories are transformed over time also casts light on India's indigenous martial ethos and past Hindu-Muslim relations.
