School-age children who reside on the Institute campus are eligible to attend the Princeton Public Schools. While the Institute provides the schools with preliminary data on the children expected in residence, the parents must complete the formal school registration materials online through Registration Gateway before a child may attend school. The first day of school is Wednesday, September 5, 2018. The full academic year calendar may be found here.
During the registration process, you will be asked to provide a Princeton address. If your housing assignment has not yet been finalized, please use the Institute’s main address: 1 Einstein Drive, Princeton, NJ 08540; and phone number: 609-734-8000. This information can be updated once your Institute apartment address and phone number are known.
The Institute will provide the required residence letters for children living on our campus; however, you must confirm you are a legal resident residing in the Princeton Public School District by completing the Eligibility for Registration form.
Also during the registration process, you will be asked to provide a local emergency contact, please feel free to use Institute contact Jennifer Hansen (609-734-8206) if you do not yet know anyone else in the area. This information may also be updated at a later date.
Once you have completed the online registration process, you will need to contact the school that your child(ren) will be attending to schedule an appointment to finalize the registration and bring in the required supporting documents (signed Eligibility for Registration form, child's birth certificate or passport, child's medical and immunization records, and, when requested, child’s last report card). Littlebrook Elementary School typically hosts a New Student Orientation session just before school starts and the Institute will provide transportation to this event. Littlebrook families may provide any outstanding materials to the school on this day.
All students who are new to the district are required to have updated physical examinations. Additionally, students who wish to participate in athletics are also required to have current physicals completed by a US physician that cover the practice and playing season of the sport in which they are participating. Please review the following school specific medical requirements and have your physician compete the appropriate medical form based on the school your child(ren) will attend:
