Thomas J. Figueira will spend his year finishing a long-term project on the Athenian phoros ("tribute") -system, which will explore the financing of Attic hegemony in the fifth-century, with particular attention to its strategic and economic ramifications. This project proposes to synthesize many earlier studies.
