Large N Theories and Strings: Conformal, Confining, and Holographic
Organizers: Nathan Benjamin, Simone Giombi, Victor Gorbenko, Shota Komatsu, Silviu Pufu, Xinan ZhouIn recent years, there has been much interesting progress from disparate subfields of high energy physics, all under the unifying theme of theories with a large number of degrees of freedom. This includes strings in confining gauge theories, conformal field theories, quantum gravity, and the gauge/string dualities. The purpose of this workshop is to bring together experts in those fields to revisit and shed new lights on the original idea of theories of large N.
