Why I’m running for governor of Massachusetts

On Monday, I announced my exploration of a run for governor of Massachusetts in 2022, and, as a result, I am no longer a contributing columnist for The Post. I’m sad to go, but also certain about my new direction. I’ve spent my life as a scholar and writer, social entrepreneur and policy innovator, working to advance the cause of healthy constitutional democracy. I am confident that even academics can make the leap to politics, and bring something of value to the work of governance.
