School of Natural Sciences Members Win International Astronomical Union Awards

Adrian Hamers and Morgan MacLeod, both current Members in the School of Natural Sciences, have each been awarded inaugural International Astronomical Union prizes. The IAU prize recognizes outstanding scientific achievements in astronomy by Ph.D. students around the world. Hamers is honored for his thesis work on hierarchical systems and MacLeod for his thesis, Social Stars: Modeling the Interactive Lives of Stars in Dense Clusters and Binary Systems in the Era of Time Domain Astronomy.
