Joan Wallach Scott Named Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur of France
On March 13, 2018, Joan Wallach Scott, Professor Emerita in the School of Social Science, was named a Chevalier de la Légion d’Honneur of France, the country's highest decoration, in a ceremony held at the Cultural Services of the French Embassy. She was recognized for her remarkable contributions to the writing of history and to the intellectual, philosophical, and political debates of the French Republic.
