Campus Housing - Furnishings

When you arrive at IAS

All Housing Complex apartments are fully furnished. Limited supply prevents the replacement of the types of beds and furniture included in the inventory for a particular apartment. Please do not trade or move furniture to other apartments, leave furniture outside on balconies or porches, or remove Institute furniture to off-campus storage facilities. Due to storage limitations, furniture cannot be removed from apartments. Apartments have standard curtains and blinds and residents are requested not to substitute their own.

An inventory was prepared by the Housing Maintenance Office staff and was placed in your apartment for your approval upon arrival. Please review the form and contact Andy Compton (hsgmaint@ias.edu) with any questions you may have concerning the furnishings and kitchen supplies in your apartment.

Please do not use nails or drill holes in any walls, cabinets, doors, etc. Pictures, posters, or wall decorations should be hung with 3M Command Products (http://www.command.com/3M/en_US/command/products/).

Residents are responsible for any damages to the apartment or furnishings beyond normal wear and will be charged the cost of repair or replacement of damaged structures or items. If it is determined at the time of apartment inspection that any additional cleaning is required over and above the normal standards, the resident will be charged for the additional cleaning at an hourly rate.

An ironing board is provided in each apartment and a limited number of irons can be signed out from the Housing Maintenance Office. Also included are wastebaskets, a bucket, mop, sponge, dustpan, brush, broom, plunger, fire extinguisher, and a starter set of hangers. Folding beds may be rented from the Housing Maintenance Office for overnight guests at a cost of $25.00 per week. Please give three days' notice to reserve the folding bed.
