The Secret Science Club Presents Robbert Dijkgraaf at The Bell House

Einstein’s theory of relativity showed that gravity and the evolution of the cosmos can be understood through the geometry of space and time. But some of the most dramatic predictions of that theory, such as black holes and the Big Bang, challenge that idea. Robbert Dijkgraaf, Director and Leon Levy Professor, will discuss how when combined with quantum mechanics, the solution points to a deeper underlying description of reality where space and time are but an illusion.

Dijkgraaf will sign copies of "The Usefulness of Useless Knowledge" following the event.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m., event begins at 8:00 p.m.

This event, which is free and open to the public 21 and over, is part of the Secret Science Club and will take place at The Bell House, 149 7th Street, Brooklyn, New York. For more information visit the Secret Science Club.

The Institute will provide transportation to and from the event for members of the Institute community and will be leaving Fuld Hall at 4 p.m. sharp. Space is limited.
