Toll Charges

Effective May 1, 2006

This page contains toll charges for International and Domestic long distance rates. The local calling area is also defined here. Please note that most initial periods are 18 seconds while additional periods are in six second increments. Exceptions are noted. The cost of a five minute call is also provided for reference. These rates are subject to change without notice. Rates for special calls (such as directory assistance) can be found at charges for installations, monthly service fees and other costs.

Note: Every effort is made to present accurate information on these pages concerning charges. In the event of any disagreement between your bill and this information, the Business Office's decision will prevail. Each School has policies regarding office telephone use and charges. Please contact your school Administrative Officer for questions on office telephone billing.

There is no charge for incoming or local calls. According to Verizon, the local calling area consists of the following:

Domestic Long Distance Charges

All non-local calls within the North American Country code of "1" are charged a flat rate of 4.5 cents per minute regardless of time of day or day of week.

International Long Distance Charges

International calls are charged uniformly across the day. The rates shown in the document below are per minute charges measured every 6 seconds with a 30 second minimum.
