For a full list of Urgent Care options please see "Urgent Care Information" on the Medical Care Information page

Several medical services are available to Institute employees and members through Penn Medicine Princeton Health in Plainsboro. You are responsible for the cost for these services and will be responsible for payment at the time of service. You should check with your medical insurance carrier first to see if they are willing to reimburse you for these services.

Individuals will be required to show either their Institute for Advanced Study Identification card or carry with them an authorization letter available weekdays between 8:30am and 4:00pm from the Human Resources Office. Without one of these forms of proof of Institute-affiliation, the Occupational Health office of the Princeton Medical Center will not see you as a patient.

Travel Immunizations:

Individuals who are affiliated with the Institute and traveling to areas where vaccinations will be needed, are eligible to receive immunizations through the Occupational Health office. This service is available to you if your primary care physician does not provide travel immunizations. The charges for these services (typically $110 for an exam and then the additional cost of the inoculations) will have to be paid at the time of service.

It is recommended that individuals who are intending to travel internationally for a short period of time (less than three weeks) should make an appointment for evaluation by the medical staff approximately four weeks before their departure date. It is recommended that individuals who expect to be out of the country for more than three weeks should make an appointment at least six weeks before departure. It usually takes the body at least 10 days to produce antibodies after receiving an immunization. Further, certain vaccines require a series of up to three injections given over a 30 day period. For these reasons, advance planning is recommended.

To discuss what immunizations you might need or to make an appointment, please call the Occupational Health Department of Penn Medicine Princeton Health at 609-853-7474 between the hours of 8:00 am - 4:30 pm, M-F.
