Supertranslation(s) from Scattering Amplitudes

On-shell methods have found a new application to local observables such as asymptotic radiation fields and gravitational waveforms. While these observables are invariant under small gauge transformations, they are known to depend on a choice of asymptotic gauge; for gravity on asymptotically Minkowski spacetimes, this is a choice of BMS frame.

After briefly reviewing the calculation of the gravitational waveforms in the on-shell approach, we discuss a method for capturing certain supertranslations within this framework to all orders in perturbation theory, as well as its connection with classic results in general relativity.
