Vesselin Dimitrov investigates the structural aspects of Diophantine approximation by special points, such as CM points or minimum height algebraic points in an arithmetic variety. He is interested in the intrinsic connection of this subject to algebraic actions of discrete amenable groups, and in related questions in number theory and geometry.
