Miriam Ticktin is investigating practices of containment at the border, and how these are shaped by encounters between humans and nonhumans, from wildlife to viruses. She is interested in how the mobility of nonhumans shapes the mobility of people. Her project focuses on walls, fences, and spaces of quarantine.
