Dimitri James Kastritsis

Dimitri Kastritsis is studying historical narratives surrounding the rise of the Ottoman Empire in the fifteenth century C.E. These influential accounts in Turkish, Persian, Greek, and other languages combine imagined views of history, ideas of universalism and empire, and a search for a new Ottoman identity in dialogue with an existing Roman and Islamic past.
