Dietrich Jung will work on a book about the multiple ways in which Islamic traditions have played a role in constructing modern Muslim subjectivities since the late nineteenth century. The study explores the intersection between religious traditions and a variety of non-religious social sites such as sports, education, youth cultures, and fashion.
