Amín Pérez’s work offers a reappraisal of the sociology of empire through the path-breaking thought developed within Pierre Bourdieu’s work during the Algerian War of Independence. Drawing on extensive primary research, it reveals the intellectual revolution that gave birth to a new understanding of domination.
