Institute for Advanced Study Appoints Nancy MacMillan to Board of Trustees

Nancy S. MacMillan, publisher of the Princeton Alumni Weekly since 1990, has been named to the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Advanced Study. The Princeton Alumni Weekly is the official alumni magazine of Princeton University, with a circulation of approximately 60,000. She is also President of the Ivy League Magazine Network.

Prior to her current appointment, she has held positions as a business consultant; controller of Arete Publishing Company, Princeton; and assistant treasurer of Bankers Trust Co., New York.

A graduate of Connecticut College, MacMillan also holds a master's degree in economics from Hunter College and an M.B.A. in Finance from Rider University.

She has been an active volunteer for various nonprofit organizations and institutions in the Princeton community. She chaired and is a former Treasurer of the American Repertory Ballet board, and led that organization's development committee and

capital campaign. A former member of the board of the Auxiliary of the Medical Center at Princeton, she co-chaired the June Fete in 1994. She is also a former member of the board of the New Brunswick Cultural Center.

MacMillan is a grandniece of Herbert Maass, who was counsel to Louis Bamberger, his sister Mrs. Felix Fuld, and Dr. Abraham Flexner during their deliberations over founding the Institute. Mr. Maass served as a founding Trustee, chaired several committees, and was Chairman of the Board from 1946-1957.
