Edward T. Cone Concert Series: Vox Clamantis
In this series, IAS Artist-in-Residence David Lang highlights performances from our musical archives for you to enjoy during your time at home. Today’s selection was performed at IAS in October 2018 as part of the Edward T. Cone Concert Series, and was broadcast on WWFM’s The Classical Network In Concert, hosted by David Osenberg.
David Lang writes: Today we feature the Grammy Award–winning choir Vox Clamantis, singing both Gregorian Chant and contemporary music based on Gregorian Chant. Hailing from Estonia, this is one of the great choirs in the world, formed almost 25 years ago specifically to honor the legacy of medieval chant. This concert includes the American premiere of a new work by composer Arvo Pärt, their countryman, a frequent collaborator, and one of the great composers of our time.
