Joan Scott and Lalaie Ameeriar at Labyrinth Books in Princeton

In Downwardly Global (Duke University Press 2017), Lalaie Ameeriar, Member in the School of Social Science, examines the transnational labor migration of Pakistani women to Toronto, which has produced a form of multiculturalism that privileges whiteness while using race, gender, and cultural difference as a scapegoat for the failures of Canadian neoliberal policies. Ameeriar and Joan Wallach Scott, Professor Emerita in the School of Social Science, will have a conversation about these topics on Thursday, March 30, at 6 p.m. at Labyrinth Books in Princeton.
