Former School of Social Science Member Awarded 2017 Palmer Civil Liberties Prize

Hugh Gusterson, Member (2014–15) in the School of Social Science, received the 2017 Roy C. Palmer Civil Liberties Prize, which honors a work of scholarship exploring the tension between civil liberties and national security in contemporary American society. Gusterson is recognized for his book Drone: Remote Control Warfare (MIT Press 2016), which he wrote during his time at the Institute.
