Julian Grant and Peter Lighte live in the neighborhood and have been Friends of the Institute for 14 years. They are graciously inviting 25 Institute Members to their home for brunch on Sunday, November 17 starting at 11:00am.

About the hosts:

Julian Grant is a composer, writer, educator, music journalist and broadcaster.  He has composed 20 operas which have been performed by English National Opera, The Royal Opera, Almeida Opera, Boston Lyric Opera and many more, and has won the National Opera Association of America’s New Opera prize and been nominated for Olivier Awards and an International Opera Award. Born in London UK, he has lived in Canada, Hong Hong, Tokyo, Beijing and moved to the US in 2010. He serves as an advisor to the Princeton Symphony Orchestra. 

Peter Lighte is a Princeton-trained Sinologist who left academia and ultimately retired as Founding Chairman of JPMorgan Chase Bank China. Living abroad for almost three decades, he divided his time between London, Hong Kong, Tokyo and Beijing. Peter, who serves on the boards of OneSky Foundation, the Council on International Educational Exchange and the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, is the author of "Straight Through the Labyrinth: Becoming a Gay Father in China,” along with two other books.  Julian and Peter are the fathers of two adopted Chinese daughters.

This promises to be a popular event, and the number of guests is limited. Please respond by Friday, November 1. If the guest list fills up before then, we will have a waitlist.
