Join us for a special teatime program for IAS Staff with Professor Tadashi Tokieda who will use various office supplies to explore a sequence of magic tricks.

Tadashi Tokieda, Professor of Mathematics at Stanford University, likes applying mathematics to physics, and applying physics to mathematics. His interests ­include inventing, collecting, and studying toys. He grew up as a painter in Japan and later was educated as a classical philologist in France before becoming a mathematician. He is known for using innocent-looking everyday objects to reveal underlying mathematical surprises.
