Photography, the Scientific Image and Notion(s) of Objectivity: Photographic and Photographically-Based Images in Astronomy and the Social Legitimation of Scientific Images Used in the Second Half of the 19th Century, with Special Attention to Astronomy
A brown bag lunch talk will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at noon in the Rare Books and Special Collections West classroom where you will hear about the ongoing work of Piroska Csúri, who is visiting from the Universidad de San Andrés, Buenos Aires, Argentina. Piroska's project is titled "Photography, the Scientific Image and Notion(s) of Objectivity: Photographic and Photographically-Based Images in Astronomy and the Social Legitimation of Scientific Images Used in the Second Half of the 19th Century, with Special Attention to Astronomy."
