Princeton Plasma Physics Laboratory (PPPL) Colloquium

Quantum computers are not an abstraction anymore - Google, NASA and USRA recently announced formation of the Quantum Artificial Intelligence Lab equipped with 1,000-qubit quantum computer. In this talk we will focus on quantum algorithms such as Deutsch, Shor's and Grover's and will discuss why they are faster than the classical ones. We will also talk about quantum algorithms for computing knot invariants.
