English Conversation is Canceled until further Notice

Beginning January 13: In its 17th year, English Conversation (EC), hosted by Helen Goddard, is for anyone at IAS whether a beginner English speaker or a native or fluent speaker. You may come every time, or drop in and out. There are usually between 8 and 13 people and the group often chat in pairs to make sure that everyone gets to talk. Helen prepares anything from puzzles, to reading short pieces, to poems with fun vocabulary. The group also talks about things to do in Princeton, where to go and how things work. Elevenses takes place close to 11 am in Helen's kitchen where she has tea or coffee and something to nibble. Nibbles range from a simple biscuit (= cookie) to fruit, to a special treat made by anyone in the group. A relaxed and friendly group, EC meets at 43 Maxwell Lane, a 5 to 6 minute walk from Fuld Hall. Standing with your back to Fuld Hall, you walk to your left, curving round the meadow. Maxwell Lane is on your left and Helen's house is the second one on the left.

English Conversation is held most every Monday from 10:00 a.m. to noon. If you would like to be part of the group, please let us know by clicking HERE. English Conversation.pdf

A Limerick
There was a young lady of Ryde

Who swallowed some apples and died.

The apples fermented

Inside the lamented

And made cider inside her inside.
