Research Statement: My project is a close study of the artists, actors, musicians, poets, historians and philosophers who accompanied Alexander the Great on his march east. It aims to show that the expedition was an unprecedented cultural event that reinforced certain trends in post-classical Greek culture and reset the course of others.
