Emergent Spacetime from Generalized Free Fields
Abstract: In arxiv.org/abs/2306.16687 we developed a general construction of bulk 1+1d geometry from the two-point function of a generalized free field at the 0+1d boundary. This construction was numerical and requires discretization of time. In this talk, I will report some new results along this direction which is an ongoing work of Haifeng Tang, Tamra Nebabu and I. We obtain analytic formulas that relate the boundary two-point function and the bulk geometry, and compute the curvature near the horizon for different examples. As examples we analyze models with finite number of poles and zeros for the two-point function, and large-q SYK model. Interestingly, our result shows that negative curvature is more generic than positive curvature near the horizon. We will also analyze the simplest model with positive curvature near the horizon.
