Duality Defects Get Fuzzy
Abstract: I will discuss the fate of non-invertible duality symmetries in 1+1d CFTs under continuous deformations. We will explore the constraints imposed by anomaly matching even when the duality defect is no longer topological. In particular, I will discuss a string-theory realization in which the anomaly is encoded in the UV by Chan–Paton degrees of freedom and, after tachyon condensation, is matched in the IR by an emergent fuzzy torus
