Computing equipment, accessories and peripheral loans

The Math Computing Group offers the following items for temporary use by School of Mathematics faculty, staff, members, and visitors:

  • Charger cables (e.g., Lightning, Micro-USB, USB-C)
  • Display cables (e.g., DisplayPort, HDMI)
  • Keyboards and mice for Linux, macOS and Windows
  • Laptops (Fedora)
  • Network cables
  • Presentation remotes
  • Projector
  • Tablets (Apple iPad)

All equipment loans are subject to availability and must be returned by the agreed-upon date.

Laptop Loan Guidelines

Laptop loans are subject to the following guidelines:

  • Faculty and staff may check out a laptop for up to 14 days.
  • Members may check out a laptop for up to 7 days.
  • If a laptop is being used as a temporary replacement for an IAS computer under repair, it may be checked out until the original computer is returned to service.
  • Laptops must be returned by the specified date to ensure availability for other members of the School of Mathematics community.

Personal Data on Loaner Laptops

Before returning a loaner laptop or tablet, please back up any personal files you'd like to keep. You can save them to a USB flash drive, cloud storage, or your IAS network storage space. Once the laptop is returned, all personal data will be securely erased to protect your privacy and prepare the device for its next user. Please note that the Math Computing Group cannot recover data left on the laptop after it has been returned.
