The Past, Present, and Future of the Deep Universe

Results from JWST have challenged our prior views of galaxy formation and supermassive black hole growth at the earliest cosmic epochs. Our knowledge of the distant universe has evolved rapidly over the last two years of science operations, and while exciting new discoveries continue unabated, with the initial findings firmly in hand now is time to reflect on what we’ve learned. This talk will discuss how our ideas about the first billion years of cosmic history have changed, and highlight the areas where JWST will continue to revolutionize our understanding of the very beginnings of galaxy formation and evolution.
