Abstract: "Algebraic" field theorists and "categorical" field theorists are both very interested in what it means for a quantum field theory to be "local," but the perspectives taken by these two communities are quite different. I will discuss two recent papers that attempt to bridge this gap, authored with Harlow, Shao, and Srivastava. 2509.03589 and 2503.20863.
