Superradiant Instabilities and Supersymmetry

Abstract: A class of charged/rotating black holes in asymptotically Anti de-Sitter spacetime is known to undergo superradiant instabilities under which they tend to emit particles carrying charge/angular momentum. In this talk, I will describe new gravity solutions as potential endpoints to these instabilities. As I will explain in this talk, the existence of these new solutions also sheds light on the spectrum of supersymmetric states in N=4 Super Yang-Mills theory and seemingly provides new predictions for the superconformal index of this theory.
