Princeton University Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) Seminar Series

The 2030STEM project was created in 2020 as a response to the call to action which happened surrounding the death of George Floyd. With an award from the Alfred P Sloan Foundation as well as the Heising Simons Foundation, our team of co-founders developed a project which identifies pathways to success for traditionally underrepresented STEM practitioners. Since its formation, 2030STEM has been an aggregator and disseminator, creating networking opportunities for STEM practitioners with the power and drive to make change in the way of a representative STEM workforce across race, genders, and professions.  We convene curated “accelerator salons,” where the latest research and best practice that generates inclusion and equity in STEM leadership, mentoring, access to capital, and cultural change are discussed and the findings are then disseminated via white papers. In this talk I will summarize the goals of 2030STEM, the past and current aggregator salons along with their resulting position papers, and the future agenda for expanding the project.
