Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

Newark Airport is about two hours from Princeton, New Jersey when traveling by public transportation. It is about one hour by car, assuming no delays.

We recommend the New Jersey Transit train service as the most convenient way to travel to Princeton from Newark Airport.

AirTrain from Newark Airport

The AirTrain at Newark Airport provides easy transportation from the airport to New Jersey Transit, PATH and AMTRAK stations nearby. Take the AirTrain from your terminal to Airport Station to connect to New Jersey Transit and AMTRAK.

New Jersey Transit Train Service

New Jersey Transit's "Northeast Corridor" rail line is the most convenient train line between Newark Airport and Princeton, NJ.

To view the train schedule, visit NJ Transit's website and select trains from Newark Penn Station or Newark Airport Station to Princeton Junction station.

From Princeton Junction station, you may take a taxi (at the cost of about $20 USD) or the New Jersey Transit shuttle train ("DINKY") from the Princeton Junction station to Princeton Station. The Institute is about a 20-minute walk from Princeton Station.

PLEASE NOTE: As of April 28, 2017, please expect delays of 15-minutes on weekdays and 30-minutes on weekends on all New Jersey Transit lines traveling into and out of New York Penn Station as AMTRAK performs track maintenance. These delays are expected to continue until further notice.
